To create a gallery for an artist that previously did not have a gallery, follow the following steps:
Log on to CMSMS as the NFAL admin user.
Click the USERS & GROUPS link.
Click on the USERS link.
Click on ADD NEW USER
Create a user id for the artist by typing in the last name followed by the first initial without any spaces. For example, if a user id for Jarrod Chambers was being created, type CHAMBERSJinto the NAME field.
Type a password in the PASSWORD fields (there are 2). Remember the password – you'll need to it when you are sending the artist an email at the end of this process.
Fill in the FIRST NAME, LAST NAME, and EMAIL fields.
Click on the SUBMIT button.
In the menu bar select the menu item "USERS & GROUPS --> GROUP ASSIGNMENTS"
Select the ARTISTS group in the drop-down and click on the SELECT GROUP button.
Put a checkmark next to the new artist's name.
Click on the SUBMIT button.
Click on the menu item "CONTENT --> PAGES"
Click on ADD NEW CONTENT
In the field CONTENT TYPE select CATEGORY PAGE
In the field TITLE type in the first and last names of the artist
In the MENU TEXT field, type in the first and last names of the artist again
The PARENT/CATEGORY PAGE should already be set to “5.1 - Artists”. If it is not, select that entry.
In the PAGE TEMPLATE field select "NFAL_Tpl_without_sidebar"
The SUB-TEMPLATE field should already be set to "NFAL Artist Page". If it is not, select that value.
Click on the SUBMIT button.
Now in the content navigator, click on the page that you just created (it'll have the name of the artist and will be under the Gallery branch.
Click on the PERMISSIONS tab at the top.
In the OWNER field select the name of the artist. This will ensure that that person can edit his or her page and can create works of art in that area of the gallery. Remember that the user id you'll be looking for is the one you created earlier (last name followed by the first name initial)
Click the SUBMIT button.
Send an email to the artist and provide the password, an introduction to the gallery, and links to helpful information such as the tutorial.
This step is only required if you wish to maintain individual credentials for each member, as opposed to using the group "nepean" account for everybody.
This is the user name that a person would use to access the NEWSLETTERS page.
